Thalassemia Screening & Health Checkup across ages
Thalassemia screening and comprehensive health checkup was conducted for 123 persons.

About the Project
The
Rotary Club of Central Gardens Calcutta organized a health camp
benefiting 123 individuals, including free thalassemia screening for 30
young adults with Serum Thalassemia Prevention Federation. Services
covered blood pressure, blood sugar, eye exams with prescriptions,
general health checks, and doctor consultations. District Governor Dr.
Ramendu Homchaudhuri graced the event, explaining thalassemia’s causes,
symptoms, and the importance of early screening. Pediatrician Dr. Arun
Manglik emphasized prevention for future generations, while Rtn Sanjib
Acharya shared his vision of a thalassemia-free nation. The camp boosted
awareness, strengthened Rotary’s community presence, and received
positive feedback. With strong participation, it stands as a testimony
to Rotary’s dedication to preventive healthcare and service. Heartfelt
gratitude goes to DG Dr. Homchaudhuri, medical partners, volunteers, and
members for making this impactful project possible.
